In a significant gesture of transition, U.S. President Joe Biden has invited President-elect Donald Trump to the White House for a meeting set to take place on Wednesday, according to Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. This comes after Trump’s recent victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the closely contested November 5 election.

“At President Biden’s invitation, President Biden and President-elect Trump will meet in the Oval Office on Wednesday,” Jean-Pierre confirmed in a statement on Saturday.
