Israel war on Gaza live: No letup in Israeli attacks ahead of truce talks

Israel’s ultimate goal is sovereignty over all Palestinian land

Israeli military aircraft strike Hamad City as artillery blasts residential buildings in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip after dozens killed in attacks across the Palestinian territory over previous 24 hours.

The US and Israel are sending delegations to Qatar for ceasefire talks that are due to start later today while Hamas has told mediators it is willing to meet after the discussions to determine if there is a serious response from Israel to truce proposals.

On the eve of talks, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani called on all sides to not do anything to undermine the crucial negotiations.

Five people were killed by Israeli security forces in the occupied West Bank’s Tubas governorate during Israeli military raids, including four Palestinians who died in a drone strike on the town of Tammun.

At least 39,965 people have been killed and 92,294 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 and more than 200 were taken captive.
