La Liga and Real Madrid have condemned racist abuse aimed at Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal during Saturday’s El Clasico at the Bernabeu.

Barcelona’s recent victory over Real Madrid, marked by the young Spanish player’s 77th-minute goal celebration, was overshadowed by reports of racist taunts from some fans at the Santiago Bernabeu. Following the match, La Liga promptly announced plans to report these incidents to the Hate Crimes Section of Spain’s National Police Information Brigade and to the Coordinating Prosecutor of the Hate Crimes and Discrimination unit of the State Attorney General’s office. La Liga’s statement condemned the behavior and reaffirmed its stance against racism in football.

Real Madrid also expressed regret over the situation, releasing a statement that strongly condemned any racist, xenophobic, or violent behavior in sports. The club confirmed an internal investigation is underway to identify the fans responsible for the insults, aiming to take both disciplinary and judicial measures. The incident highlights the ongoing struggle against racism in football, as both La Liga and Real Madrid take steps to address this behavior and prevent its recurrence in stadiums.
